The Mediterranean way of eating is universally known to be among the healthiest and most balanced of all planet since it does not use animal fat but prefers vegetable one and largely add aromatic herbes as basil, rosemary, thyme, marjoran, sage. The extra-virgin oil is the « star » of the Ligurian cuisine and we are glad to organize visits to local ancient oil mills.
We use oil for « Pesto sauce » blended with fresh basil leaves, pinenuts, parmesan. During your stay we’ll show you how to prepare it by yourself, offering you -at departure- a fresh and perfumed basil plant to bring home.

Il Bistrot at La Meridiana is convial and charming. It is the ideal place for a quick lunch in a cosy setting with typical Ligurian cuisine like ravioli with borage and ricotta, trofie with pesto, potato and anchovy tortini, stuffed pumpkin flowers, olive pâté and hot focaccia, minestrone alla ligure, panissa and other regional specialities, adding Pigato wine and tiny black olives from Taggia.
