The cellar next to Auberge de la Klauss holds 50,000 bottles of fine French wine. Come and enjoy an aperitif in extraordinary surroundings – a vaulted cellar, near the smokestack and smokehouse – and try sabrage for yourself on a bottle of champagne, before enjoying the rewards. Sabrage is an art that dates back to Napoleonic times. Soldiers would use their sword when celebrating victory. This unique experience will teach you the steps required to master this ancestral bottle opening technique!
In 1994, the sunny slopes of the six Collines de Montenach were classified as a national nature reserve. This unique natural habitat rich in flora is home to rare wild orchids. From May to June, there are various walks offered by the Maison de la Nature enabling you to admire the delicate beauty of these flowers.
Located 10 minutes from the estate, Château de Malbrouck overlooks the village of Manderen. Classified as an historical monument, the 15th century building stands out for its impressive architecture. We offer both guided and self-guided tours of this famous chateau, scene of part of the War of the Spanish Succession.
How would you like to fly over our beautiful country – on the border with three others – to appreciate its landscape from the sky? Domaine de la Klauss offers you the chance to do just that in a hot air balloon. Weather dependent, of course!
