Nestled at the heart of a 26-hectare meadow, with 5 hectares of woods and a French-style garden, Château de Noizay is an essential part of the history of France and the Loire Valley. Built in 1560, it served as the scene of the Amboise conspiracy, during which the Protestants, who were involved in disputes with the Catholics, planned to abduct King Francis II. The stained glass windows, majestic staircase and carved woodwork all bear witness to this rich history.

Here, in 1560, in an effort to fully express their faith - since at the time only Catholics were recognized as 'legitimate' - Protestants plotted to abduct king Francis II: the event became known as the Amboise Conspiracy. Château de Noizay was the place where this historic event unfolded. The 16th-century building still harbours historic traces such as the majestic stained-glass windows which impart a wholly mystical atmosphere.
