Erected in 1904 by the Marquise de Polignac, Le Domaine Les Crayères has been at the heart of life in Reims for over a century. Thirty years after its opening, this vibrant center of activity has kept its stately home spirit. Its 20 rooms are nobly decorated in their own individual styles. At Le Domaine Les Crayères, exemplary service goes hand in hand with emotion to give an experience that epitomizes the French expression of art de vivre.
Home to a number of champagne producers, Le Domaine Les Crayères is one of the most expert providers of food and champagne pairings. Executive Chef Philippe Mille and Head Sommelier Philippe Jamesse work in close collaboration to create menus that highlight the style of a producer, paired with dishes specifically devised to emphasize their character. The cellar book lists over 1,000 champagne references, demonstrating the close ties that have been forged with both major Houses and young producers.
It can be hard to tell quite when expertise gives way to the mysteries of the art. Age-old skills emphasize the virtues of being attentive, having purpose and sharing with others. Passed on from one generation to the next, these skills are the embodiment of passion, the end result of being determined to keep on improving, revealing themselves to the world much like writing, language or choreography. Le Domaine Les Crayères continues the tradition of established skills demonstrating poise and accuracy. Indicative of an exceptional experience, they reflect the spirit of the place, marrying finesse, restraint, elegance and precision.
The Domaine's many activities engage the intellect and the senses, with jazz evenings at the “La Rotonde” bar, dual-chef menus at the “Le Parc” restaurant, and cultural discoveries at the “Le Jardin” Brasserie, as well as unmissable events such as the night-long Soirée Blanche to celebrate the return of summer or the Producers’ Market held as part of the Festival of Gastronomy. The rich line-up of events here conveys the playful and festive spirit of a Maison open to all forms of cultural expression.
