Denise Gordon & Drew Davies | Jazzaudehore
Born in England of Caribbean parents, trained to gospel in church, Denise Gordon has sung all over the world, from Australia to Zimbabwe to New Orleans and Buckingham Palace. Frequently invited to the biggest European festivals, she gives her soul-filled vocal imprint to the audience who have the chance to see and hear it on stage. This adept of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Mahalia Jackson and Louis Armstrong deploys her talent in New Orleans styles, funk, soul, rhythm’n blues, spirituals. After recording more than twenty albums, given about 1000 concerts with the cream of the European rhythm’n’blues artists and with his own band, Drew Davies created a tenor sax trio – Hammond organ – drums to accompany Denise Gordon and return to the sources of gospel and rhythm’n’blues. An explosive association that regenerates this festive and mainstream music: A group not to be missed! Denise Gordon (vocals), Drew Davies (tenor sax), César Pastre (Hammond organ) & Mourad Benhamou (drums)
