The world’s culinary elite gathers in Beaune to tackle the crisis

More than 50 starred chefs from across the globe meet in Burgundy to take stock of the last few months’ activity in a difficult economic crisis. They wish to come up with concrete proposals on how to weather the crisis and promote fine dining without making any concessions to product quality.

For Jaume Tàpies, International President of Relais & Châteaux “Our Grands Chefs are the best sounding board for finding ways of tackling the crisis and reticent consumer spending. They are in contact with guests, suppliers and the media whilst remaining firmly anchored in the heart of their regions and their terroirs”.

The meeting begins on Monday at the Hospices de Beaune with a cocktail lunch. It continues in the afternoon with working sessions and a press meeting at the end of the day.

Tuesday will be devoted to presenting the delights of Burgundy to the wonderful family of the Grands Chefs (160 Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux on five continents).
