Relais & Châteaux unveils its International Guide 2006 and its 35 new member properties around the world.

The Relais & Châteaux Association, reunited for its international congress in Geneva, has just revealed its new members in 2006: a remarkable group of 35 hotels and restaurants including 12 Relais Gourmands.

The new members come from 17 different countries:
- Europe + 21 members
- African continent + 3 members
- Asia + 3 members
- North America + 6 members
- Caribbean + 1 member
- South America + 1 member

This selection testifies to the Association’s highly international coverage today.

The Association welcomes a Chinese property for the first time: the restaurant Sens & Bund, Relais Gourmand in Shanghai.

The high number of new French members is also worth mentioning: Daniel (Paris), Hostellerie La Briqueterie (Epernay), Manoir des Saules (La Saussaye), Prieuré d’Orsan (Maisonnais), Hôtel de Toiras (Saint Martin de Ré), Relais Royal (Mirepoix) and Le Mas de Pierre (Saint Paul de Vence).

This year we also welcome 12 new Relais Gourmands: Le Pré Catelan (Paris), L’Auberge du Lion d’Or (Switzerland), Restaurant Amador (Germany), The Fat Duck (United Kingdom), Caino (Italy), Restaurant Sant Pau à Tokyo (Japan), Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Tokyo (Japan), Restaurant Initiale in Quebec (Canada), Restaurant Toqué ! in Montréal (Canada), Jean-Robert at Pigall’s in Cincinnati (United States) and Per Se in New York (United States).

Together, these 35 properties will be the ambassadors for our art de vivre consisting of sophistication, seduction, tradition and authenticity which we have upheld for more than 50 years.

Our member properties have an average capacity of 25 rooms; they highlight their character through their style, décor and cuisine.

In 2006 our Association will number 453 properties in 50 countries on 5 continents.
