Located inside an Almohad walled town - the famous Berber and Muslim dynasty - interspersed with towers, the old town of Cáceres boasts magnificent monuments inspired by Islamic, Roman, Gothic and Renaissance art. This is an essential stopover for the surroundings and to enjoy dinner at the Restaurante Atrio. Toño Pérez, the chef from a family of self-taught chefs, displays his unconventional skill to create dishes that reflect his passion for authentic produce and local cuisine. All his dishes feature Extremadura olive oil: “It’s green and as flavourful as a fruit juice. On its own, it is perfect for preparing escabeche or confit. Flavoured with vanilla, I drizzle it on local sheep cheese - Torta del Casar - with a little quince paste”. A wonderful culinary and oenological destination.
