Hameau Albert Ier
Restaurant of a Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux and hotel in the mountains (Chamonix) At the foot of Mont-Blanc, Pierre Carrier, Perrine and Pierre Maillet have taken over this private hotel, devoted to exceptional cuisine and local delicacies, created in 1903 by “great grandfather Carrier”.
Twenty-seven chefs, including five pastry chefs, form the culinary dream team that looks after the two restaurants here. On the one hand, you have the superb menu at the Albert 1er with its elaborate recipes influenced by the Piedmont and on the other, you have the “Maison Carrier” with its specialities that you can enjoy on the terrace while gazing out at the majestic beauty of Mont-Blanc. A delicious address.
Auberge du Père Bise
Restaurant of a Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux and hotel on a lake (Talloires) Surrounded by protective mountains, the water of Lake Annecy is reputed to be one of the purest in the world, inspiring Paul Cézanne’s splendid painting of the same name. The Auberge du Père Bise restaurant is beautifully located, with its glimmering lights reflecting off the surface of the lake. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect location. The chef Sophie Bise handles her products with a sculptor’s touch in order to create dishes that are as lovely to look at as they are to taste. She too is pure talent.
Flocons de Sel
Restaurant of a Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux and hotel in the mountains (Megève) The Flocon de Sel has a new address at the exit to Megève. Its particularity: chef Emmanuel Renaut offers you cuisine based on imaginative, colourful and timeless cuisine with a perfect blend of flavours. To present his unexpected dishes, he boldly injects colour, bitterness or acidity where they were not to be found before. You simply must taste one of his cult dishes: sea urchin with chicory emulsion before relaxing in the spa with treatments inspired by the mountains: fir trees, flowers and water of Megève. A wonderful place both in summer and in winter. (Lys offer valid throughout the year except for weekends (“weekend is defined as the period from Friday evening to Sunday noon included))
Ombremont
Restaurant of a Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux and hotel on a lake (Le Bourget-du-Lac) “And from that time on I bathed in the Poem / Of the Sea, star-infused and churned into milk / Devouring the green azures; where, entranced in pallid flotsam /A dreaming drowned man sometimes goes down...” Jean-Pierre Jacob loves poetry and has named his restaurant after the most famous poem by Rimbaud: Le Bateau Ivre (“The Drunken Boat”). Like the foresighted poet himself, this chef plays around with colours and images with audacity, turning each dish into a sensorial experience. The splendid view of Lake Bourget (France’s largest natural lake) could even awaken the poet in you… (Lys offer valid throughout the year except for weekends (“weekend is defined as the period from Friday evening to Sunday noon included))
Le Grand Cœur & Spa
Hotel and restaurant in the mountains (Méribel) In the heart of Méribel at the foot of the slopes, this authentic Savoy chalet doesn’t keep its “big heart” hidden away. There is the immediate promise of an exceptional stay. Enjoy the princely rooms, piano bar, gourmet restaurant; nothing is left to chance for moments of pure relaxation in the Spa that are just as agreeable as the hours spent skiing. How therapeutic the spa treatments are for those aching muscles... (Lys offer valid throughout the year except for weekends (“weekend is defined as the period from Friday evening to Sunday noon included))
