Toronto
History alone separates Toronto from the rest of Canada. Once five separate cities all annexed into the City of Toronto in 1998, the region has become a “Megacity,” a nod to the future and all its possibilities. It’s skyline dominated by the CN communication tower, Canada’s new largest city mirrors New York in terms of sophisticated night life, cultural opportunity, and art galleries and museums. It’s film festival is renowned among movie makers and fans alike. The Stratford Festival just over an hour’s drive away is the finest Shakespeare Festival in North America.
Favorite pastimes include browsing through the designer boutiques of Bloor Street West/Yorkville or dining in one of the trendy restaurant districts of College Street or Queen Street West. Located along the northern shore of Lake Ontario, the city is relieved from the severely cold winter weather experienced in other parts of the country. Still, spring and fall are favored visiting seasons for those who want to skip summer crowds and still spend time hiking, boating or cycling in mild temperatures.
