Palm Beach the most northern of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, less than one hours drive north of the Sydney CBD, is a stunning seaside suburb bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the East and Pittwater to the North and West.

Pittwater is a partially enclosed body of water which opens into the mouth of the Hawkesbury River. The peninsula between Pittwater and the ocean have the suburbs of Newport, Avalon and Palm Beach amongst others. Scotland Island and the Western Foreshores are located in the south of Pittwater. Palm Beach has for many years been regarded as an escape for Sydney’s elite and is named after its cabbage tree palms. With two stunning surf beaches and numerous small still-water beaches on Pittwater the area is a sun lover’s and water sport enthusiasts paradise. The area is famous for its natural pristine environment, beautiful waterways and magnificent beaches. The walk to Barrenjoey lighthouse is a must do experience when visiting the area. The 30 minute walk through natural bushland to the top of Barrenjoey Headland offers spectacular 360 degree views of Pittwater, The Pacific, the Central Coast and as far South as Long Reef.

The Hawkesbury River and Pittwater offer visitors the opportunity to pursue still-water activities including sailing, fishing, kayaking and windsurfing. With small ferries cruising between Palm Beach and numerous spots along the Hawkesbury and the Central Coast, Visitors are able to explore an area of Sydney that has had little or no change since European settlement.

The Western Foreshore of Pittwater and West Head National Park are renowned for its natural beauty, spectacular scenery and amazing Aboriginal rock carvings and paintings dating back tens of thousands of years.

May to November of each year is a very special time in Palm Beach as the Humpback whales make their yearly migration from Antarctica to Harvey Bay in Queensland. With numerous sightings daily the opportunity to see these glorious mammals frolicking in the Pacific only a stones throw from the beach is an experience that is never forgotten.

Palm Beach and its surrounding area offers a plethora of dining alternatives from cafes and organic food stores to casual and fine dining restaurants. Avalon village, located five kilometres south of Palm Beach, has a lovely casual ambience and fabulous shopping. Renowned for its home ware, lifestyle, and fine food retail precinct the village is a splendid place to wander, window shop or even take in a film at the local cinema.

The real beauty of Palm Beach and its surrounds is the fact that the area is less than an hour’s drive from Sydney yet you feel a thousand miles away. The natural raw beauty of the area, the peaceful serenity and the ocean as a back drop make the area a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.
