Scandinavia groups together the countries on the Scandinavian peninsula around the North Sea and the Baltic Sea: Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Sharing a similar location and a common history (and closely intertwined monarchies), they were known for centuries as the home of the barbarian “Norse Men”, the proud warriors and fearless explorers who experienced their heyday with the Vikings. You still find in the myths of these countries, their fishing villages, their towns shaped by the seas and the individual regions shaped by fishing, the same spirit which leaves no doubt about their shared identity.
