Sylt

The island of Sylt is at the northernmost tip of Germany. It was separated from the mainland 8,000 years ago. It is the largest and best known of the three North Frisian Islands. A railway link across the Hindenburgdamm opened on 1 June 1927 to convey visitors from the mainland directly to Sylt.

The island is a holidaymaker’s paradise, featuring stretches of unspoilt beaches, cosy villages with traditional thatched houses as well as resorts for the rich and famous like Kampen and the sophisticated seaside resort Westerland. Everything you could wish for!
