Lake Constance is Germany’s largest lake, situated in its south-west corner where it borders on Austria and Switzerland. The climate is mild and the scenery is magnificent.
The lake stretches from the German town
Konstanz to
Bregenz in Austria, known for its Summer Festival on Lake Constance.

The Lake Constance region has everything. In theory, you could have breakfast in Germany, then climb a mountain in Switzerland and spend the evening in Austria in one of the most beautiful open-air theatres in the world.
Several villages and mid-sized towns are dotted around the lake, many of which offer a choice of cultural activities that rivals that of major cities. The island of
Mainau is famous for its almost tropical-like vegetation. Like its sister island
Reichenau with its monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, it can be accessed from the mainland via a causeway. In summer there are also boats to the islands on a daily basis - a more romantic alternative.
Lindau has its old town centre and scenic harbour on the island in the lake, while other parts of the town lie across a bridge on the mainland.

In
Friedrichshafen, the largest flying zeppelin in the world will take you on a tour of Lake Constance. Unteruhldingen is more suitable for time travel with its open-air museum, a restored settlement of Bronze Age lake-dwellers.
Due to its wealth of natural, cultural and culinary delights, the Lake Constance region is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Germany.
