Situated between France and Switzerland, the Aosta Valley is the smallest and least populated region of Italy. This French-speaking alpine region devoted to skiing and hiking has small high-altitude resorts of particular charm. Its capital, Aoste, has a Roman stamp, echoed by its monuments dating back more than two thousand years. It also has high-class winter sports and leisure installations.
