The highest peaks of the Armorican Massif rise up over a wild area of rough-hewn beauty between moors, heathlands and peat bogs, a land of myth and romance not too distant from Cornwall. The path to take is over Le Cragou heath and then through the valley of Yeun Elez up to the summit of Roch Trévezel from which you can enjoy the most spectacular views of the region.
To the North of the Monts d’Arrée, you enter the vibrant heart of Brittany whose villages and hamlets are reminders of the importance of the Christian faith to this whole region. The parish enclosures, with their church, ossuary and calvary, are wonders of their age and are testimony to the magnificent artistic and cultural richness which can still be admired at Guimiliau, Lampaul-Guimiliau, Saint-Thégonnec, La Martyre, Commana, Sizun or even Pleyben.
