A mountainous massif on the
Swiss border, the Jura is an alternate succession of mountains, valleys and lakes forming an extraordinary ensemble. In summer, rambling (on foot or on a donkey), mountain bike riding and canyoning are popular, giving way to skis and racquets in the winter.
Among the remarkable sites in the Jura is Baume-les-messieurs. This mountain town, apart from a thousand-year-old abbey, offers an exceptional panoramic view of the site formed where three valleys meet, in particular overlooking the Baume circus.
Not far away, the Hérisson and Eventail waterfalls have a fascinating beauty.
