Bordeaux
Capital of the Gironde region, renowned for its wine, Bordeaux has managed to preserve the attractions of its culinary and architectural heritage but, at the same time, open up to the 21st century. Along its streets, the centuries gradually fall away.
From religious buildings (St. Andrew’s Cathedral, the Basilicas of St-Seurin and St-Michael, in particular) to the Palais Rohan, not forgetting the Place de la Bourse and its Trois Grâces fountain, you follow in the footsteps of Montesquieu, Montaigne and Mauriac who once lived in this city where the good life is a veritable byword.
