Indian Ocean Idyll :

From Madagascar to the Seychelles via Mauritius, uncover the most exclusive and beautiful sites of the Indian Ocean.

Madagascar

Madagascar is a fascinating destination, with a diverse mix of wildlife and cultures. Madagascan forests abound with exotic foliage and animals such as lemurs and sifakas. Sandy white beaches fringe crystalline waters cradling coral reefs - perfect for restoring the soul. Or explore the accessible national parks for a wonderful wildlife experience. With interesting tribal cultures and festivals, Madagascar is a very pleasing holiday destination.

Tucked away in a 400-hectare reserve, the Anjajavy peninsula is a paradise for nature and sea lovers. In an exceptionally rich location where the fauna and flora reflect the diversity of the "red island", the Anjajavy Hotel consists of a beautiful ensemble of rosewood villas, each with a spacious terrace, overlooking the breathtaking beaches and beautiful bay. Absolute tranquillity in a truly welcoming setting. Activities include catamarans, windsurfing, trolling and deep-sea fishing, and deep-sea excursions.

Mauritius

Then move on to another exquisite island experience in Mauritius - holiday playground of the jet-set. Tropical and beautiful, Mauritius is perfect for a beach and watersports holiday, but also offers explorations of the interior and Port Louis whose inhabitants include a colourful mix of British, French and Creole people.

Stay at the luxurious Le Prince Maurice in the north-east of the island. Surrounded by turquoise waters and offering four swimming beaches, the hotel presents paradise. Activities include tennis, sailing, water-skiing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, bicycling and diving.

Seychelles

The Seychelles is another exquisite island experience. Made up of about 115 islands almost one thousand miles off the coast of East Africa, it is a remote and idyllic destination. The three central islands - Mahe, Praslin and La Digue - are granite, and the surrounding islands are coral atolls. The Seychelles islands are a haven for wildlife, birds and tropical fish, and abound with orchids, bougainvillea, hibiscus, gardenia and frangipani blooms. Snorkelling and diving are superb.

On Praslin Island, enjoy the charming Chateau de Feuilles, with its breathtaking ocean views and splendid local architecture. The light, inventive cuisine is a tribute to the sea and the sun. Activities: Swimming pool, golf, hiking, fishing, bicycling and diving.

Then sample the pleasures of Le Lemuria Resort of Praslin - a 110-hectare property whose main building is perched over three cascading swimming pools. Activities are diverse and include swimming, tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, fitness centre, diving centre, sailing, diving and water-skiing.

Anjajavy l'Hôtel
Hotel and restaurant on the seafront
Lemurs, chameleons, tortoises, humming birds, medicinal plants, cocoa, vanilla, ylang ylang, cloves, papyrus, carnivorous plants… Madagascar is one of the last remaining unspoilt oases on the planet, with its virgin forests, savannas, lazy bays and its tiny islands at the end of the world. It boasts a nature so rich and abundant that the famous Parisian landscape architect Camille Muller decided to gather the rarest of species in “The Oasis”, the hotel’s landscaped garden. Nestled in a nature reserve of 550 hectares, Anjajavy Hotel consists of a beautiful ensemble of rosewood villas scattered over a long fine sandy beach on the Mozambique Channel. By walking along marked pathways or by boat, you can explore deserted creeks, little fishing villages and the Tsingys, coral remains sculpted by erosion with overlapping baobab roots. Pure serenity in a land of emotions. ...Read more

Le Prince Maurice
Hotel and restaurant on the seafront
This private sixty-hectare peninsula on which the Prince Maurice stands, recalls the time when the island was still a central part of the spice trade. Surrounded by white sand beaches and lagoons protected by coral reefs, the hotel melts into the island’s tropical vegetation due to its natural architecture which utilizes wood, stone, marble and thatch. The suites - some of which are built on stilts - look out over the vast blue ocean and the mangrove trees filled with birds. Between an introductory lesson to kite-surfing and a massage in the Guerlain spa, you will be able to visit the capital, Port-Louis, its markets and botanical gardens - the Pamplemousses gardens are unmissable - and stop at the dormant crater of Trou aux Cerfs.
