First stop is Hotel Heinitzburg, a very romantic turn-of-the-19th-century castle in Windhoek, the picturesque capital of Namibia. Built by Count von Schwerin for his fiancée, Margarethe von Heinitz, it offers sophisticated romantic elegance perched high above the city. ‘Leo’s Restaurant’ features fabulous views of Windhoek, and spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed while dining on delicious game dishes accompanied by fine wines from Namibia’s largest private wine cellar.

Then experience the grandeur of the Kalahari Desert, South Africa, from the luxurious base of Tswalu Kalahari Reserve. This private game reserve, where once the Kalahari Bushmen roamed, is home to a diversity of wildlife, and offers a variety of safari activities, including day and night game-drives, bush walks and sundowners on the sand dunes.

Your third stop is Clearwater Lodges, set in the lush and pristine Waterberg mountains, a mere two-and-a-half hour drive from Johannesburg. The private, 34 000-hectare Welgevonden Game Reserve is malaria-free and the setting for the two charming lodges. Day and night game-drives, bush walks and other safari activities are offered.
