Built in the central region of Namibia, Windhoek is the most western of the country’s towns. Its late 19th century buildings are surprising in this wild environment, emphasised by the Auas and Eros mountains. With a strong German culture influence (the country’s former settlers), it has a Germanic culinary tradition and style of buildings that have a charm of their own, including the Tintenpalast, Christuskirche and three castles!
