Waterberg Mountain

Nestling in the heart of Waterberg Mountain, the Marakele National Park in Limpopo province is where the dry western region and humid eastern region of South Africa meet. On this rich, mountainous land, plants and trees unique throughout the world (some species of which date back to prehistoric times) manage to survive.

The animals are perfectly at home here: there is an impressive colony of Cape Griffin Vultures, an endangered species of bird, while elephants, antelopes, rhinoceros and wild dogs roam across the rest of the region.
