The eastern tip of France is covered by a low, green rounded massif of mountains called the Vosges. Popular for hiking, ramblers walk from farmhouse inns to winstubs (wine bar/restaurants) up gentle slopes amid the spreading vines. The road along the ridges (Route des crêtes), from Bonhomme to Hohneck, Mont Ste-Odile or the Ballon des Vosges Regional Park: there are any number to choose from and views are superb.
