A photo exhibition from April 9th to May 1st, 2011 at Abbaye de Sainte Croix - Salon de Provence
The Abbaye de Sainte Croix welcomes to its walls a magnificent photo exhibition celebrating the release of the book "La vie en Oc, Musique!" Published by the editions Carnets Méditerranéens, it is a passionate glance at songs sung in Occitan (also called the Langue d’Oc or Provençal French) in Provence.
To listen to the Langue d’Oc sung by our contemporaries is to travel through time, space and the sound of music.
Fed by poetry and innovation, the creators of music in Oc continue to explore new territory. To understand the Occitan experience, it is necessary to see the musicians at work, from the recording studio to concert and festival performances.
Through 21 portraits, you will follow in the footsteps of some of the key players of this music, worthy successors to their ancestors, the troubadours.
The images of Augustin Le Gall, a photographer with a passion for the musical expressions of the Mediterranean region, take us on the aesthetic paths of these musicians.
Dates: The exhibition will be held in the Abbey from April 9th to May 1st, 2011.

Augustin Le Gall, Marseilles photographer. Music occupies more and more space in his projects, in particular the trance music of the Mediterranean region.
Elisabeth Cestor specializes in the study of Mediterranean musical worlds, including Occitan language music.
Iñaki Diez Martin, editor, lives in Barcelona and Marseille and is the founder and editorial coordinator of the Editions Carnets Méditerranéens.
To go along this Pays d’Oc discovery, « La Passerelle », our wine bar with tapas menu, offers a tasting of different wines from Pays d’Oc. Tapas from 12,50 € to 21 €, menu at 32 € (hot dish, glass of wine, café gourmand). A friendly way to extend the exhibition visit.
