Ten Chefs, Ten Wines : A theme day at the Abbaye de Sainte-Croix

On 19th March the Abbaye de Sainte-Croix, which is situated in the hills above Salon de Provence, is organising a special theme day; the aim is to gather together chefs, winegrowers and wine waiters in the same spirit as Relais & Châteaux fine dining and oenological theme stays.

At the helm will be Jean-Pierre Cargnino, who is the new deputy director to Catherine Bossard, the hotel-restaurant’s key figure for the last twenty-five years. Chefs, winegrowers and wine waiters from the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur and Languedoc regions will gather together for wine-tasting and a sumptuous dinner. Wine growers will present their favourite regional wines in the Abbaye’s stunning chapel; in the evening, the chefs will create mouth-watering dishes to accompany the selected wines.

Jéremy Picanol, who was promoted to Chef at the Abbaye at the beginning of the year, and has established himself as one of the best chefs of regional cuisine, will also be adding his young, dynamic touch to the day.

The theme day highlights an essential point: Provence-based Relais & Châteaux hotels and restaurants have all remained close to their roots. They place great importance on offering special weekend breaks for food- and wine-tasting and cooking, as well as oenological and gourmet stays. These initiatives are further enhanced by close cooperation with selected winegrowers, wine producers, and market gardeners. Everyone is delighted to offer you the chance to discover the wonderful flavours of Provencal cuisine and wine.
