Washington D.C.

Though it begins as home to the President of the United States, the nation’s capitol is far more than that. It is the world hub of power, where diplomacy begins, the Supreme Court deliberates, and Congress convenes. Within the 67 miles of its city limits, Washington DC is not a city of skyscapers, but one of memorials and monuments. There’s world class culture at the Kennedy Center and festivals and concerts year round.

Most of all, DC is a city of neighborhoods. Capitol Hill is home to the National Archives, the Library of Congress and other government organizations. The Mall consists of lovely, tree-lined streets and open space running from the Capitol to Lincoln Memorial, where The Smithsonian Institute is centered and many of the city’s finest restaurants. Downtown has historic hotels, trendy boutiques, ethnic fusion restaurants, and art galleries. Georgetown is the city’s luxury core with blooming gardens, chic eateries and lively Georgetown University. In short, Washington DC as the nation’s power center of power is a glimpse into the workings of democracy.
