Scone Palace

Scone Palace is one of Scotland’s most hallowed sites. The seat of power of the kings of Scotland, it was initially built in the mid-9th century.

On its land stood the stone of Destiny (once known as the Stone of Scone) where sovereigns used to be crowned. Although the castle has been remodelled on numerous occasions, it is nonetheless a magnificent building filled with age-old furniture and decoration.

The town of Perth near the Castle is worth a visit, in particular for the 18th century Georgian quarter.
