Bath
Taking the waters is a tradition in Bath and is the origin of its name, dating back to the days of ancient Rome. The Roman baths, near Pulteney Bridge have been very well preserved.
The city was transformed in the 18th century by two architects of genius: John Wood father and son. Their major works are “the Circus” (the father), a circle of identical houses in light-coloured stone, decorated with double columns) and the “Royal Crescent” (the son) (Thirty houses with superb façades and enormous colonnades forming a semi-circular terrace)
