Massif des Maures

This coastal massif composed of low mountains runs from the Giens peninsula to the Gulf of Fréjus marking an immense expanse of greenery and sheer cliffs descending into the sea. It is covered with forests of oak and chestnut, inhabited by a large colony of game, including wild boar. On the massif a series of small country villages are located on high land or in the valleys. Collobrières, perched on a rocky spur, and La Mole are worth a visit. The coastline roads along the ridges and cliffs offer magnificent views of the sea.
