Surrounded by protective mountains, the water of Lake Annecy is reputed to be one of the purest in the world, inspiring Paul Cézanne’s splendid painting of the same name. The Auberge du Père Bise restaurant is beautifully located, with its glimmering lights reflecting off the surface of the lake. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect location. The chef Sophie Bise handles her products with a sculptor’s touch in order to create dishes that are as lovely to look at as they are to taste. She too is pure talent.
